MALABAR VERY LOW FREQUENCY
Malabar VLF was designed to enhance your experience on the part of the music you feel before you hear.
Bass is the most honest liar in your listening room. It bends around corners, piles up in some spots and vanishes in others, and by the time it reaches your chair, it might not resemble what was actually recorded. Every room does this. It's physics, not a flaw in your system.
Malabar VLF exists to quietly address this argument between your room and the lowest octaves of the music. It doesn't replace your loudspeakers, and it doesn't ask you to notice it. It attempts to remove the issues, so that what's left is what the artist intended: a bass note that arrives once, cleanly, instead of arriving three times, from three walls, out of step with itself, and sounding like wet cardboard.
An addition that disappears
Malabar VLF is built to sit quietly alongside your loudspeakers, with a form and finish that never feels like an accessory bolted onto your system. It's there for the moments that need it, a full orchestral swell, a late-night session where the lowest notes matter more than the loudest ones, and invisible the rest of the time.
You won't hear Malabar VLF. You'll hear your room, finally getting out of the way.
Whether Malabar VLF belongs in your system depends entirely on your room and your speakers, which is exactly the kind of question best answered in person: talk to a dealer about the Malabar VLF

The drivers represent state of the art customized offerings from European constructors, employing incredibly low tolerance voice coil construction, innovative transducer materials and FEA optimized structures.
They are configured as a non-symmetric push-push pair, effectively cancelling their vibration. At full SPL, the chassis doesn’t vibrate, but you’ll need ear protection.
Their disposition provides a few more advantages: the dipole quasi-cardioid dispersion pattern ensures your room is less excited, lowers effective useful frequency, raises sensitivity. The outcome is an extremely accurate and relentless instrument, full of texture and color.
Preserving the characteristics of your system, the signal delivered to the Malabar is corrected and reamplified by a transparent and overbuilt internal amplifier. There is only one input: the speaker cables you always used. Your amplifiers are still driving the bass, imprinting their tonal character, with signal, not power. You can dial different bass preferences for different sources in your system. Your room deficiencies can be addressed by the powerful correction and positioning, accounting for resonances, asymmetries in your space and your personal taste.

The chassis can be finished with a variety of wood veneers, hand oiled and waxed. The massive solid hand brushed aluminum pieces are also hand waxed to preserve their original finish, similarly to the custom brass feet.
Each Malabar VLF is built by hand to order, with lead times starting at 2 months for traditional options. A wide range of customization options available.
