Cinnamon is about music. Our aim is to create products that represent a new edge of respect for recorded music, as we are deeply in love with the idea that listening can be an ultimate form of pleasure, a noble art in and of itself, a place of discovery, peace and connection.

We employ advanced materials, components and processes, together with unique modelling and engineering capabilities to bring out more of the recording, always evaluating our success by how natural and effortless it sounds, not just by how right it measures.

We work with creative and unique artists, architects and designers, that make sure our products complement their function in a purposeful way. They must be engaging but not distracting, inescapable but not overpowering, all respecting of both the music, and the act of listening to it.

Finally, we love traditional craftsmanship for the timelessness and the soul everything is embedded with, in an increasingly soulless and disposable world.

We do our best at locally sourcing materials and artisans to help us achieve our vision. We assemble and build everything by hand in our workshops. We are committed to this way of doing things, as it encapsulates what Cinnamon is all about, pleasure in making things matter. And we believe the music is better for it.

Diogo Canelas

  • Product Management, Sales

Portugal 1992. Masters in Soil Mechanics, unrelated.

Eclectic music lover who likes to hear it to believe it. Passionate about the indivisible nature between sound quality and design.

Ricardo Canelas

  • Product design, Manufacturing processes

Portugal, 1987. PhD in engineering, high-performance computing and fluid mechanics.

“It is my wish to create the most honest and performant components possible. I’m obsessed with the whole process of listening to recorded music. With creating products that contribute to a meaningful experience, that are authentic“

With a background in science, engineering and music, Ricardo approaches high fidelity design from an uncompromised standpoint. He digs deep into electroacoustics, electronics and digital processes, always looking to improving music reproduction.

Our designers and artisans

  • Working with architects and industrial designers that share our vision reflects on our products. They are unique, considerate and are designed with a “music listening first” attitude. Our designers sign our products as much as us.

We have the privilege of collaborating with true artisans, masters of their craft, in metal casting, metalworks, woodworking or finishing. We do our best to work locally, mostly with family businesses that like to keep things on a first name basis.
